A brief of Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa™ Method

Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa  is methods created and developed by Dario Calvaruso over 20 years of study, practice and researches.   It  is a method that finally systematises the vinyāsa practice to enable  teachers and advance practitioners to create their own personalised sequences for teaching and/or for self-practice based on their current level. Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa uses a particular system called Navadhāraṇī which ensures perfect foundations and therefore correct alignment in the yogāsana (yoga postures).  Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa™ and  Navadhāraṇī™ are registered Trade Marks and Copyrighted intellectual properties of Dario Calvaruso.

Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa is a Sanskrit term which can be translated to “Composition (vinyāsa) of Nine (nava) Unit of Movement (karana)”. It is an unprecedentedly systematised methodology for a personalised vinyāsa yoga practice and tailor-made teaching, mostly consists of intense calisthenic exercise and deep postures. By focusing on the physical body, engagement of prānic centres and mental conditioning, it  serves as a preparation for the spiritual practice.
The same methodology can be applied to create very gentle practice or therapeutics as well. Mastering of Navakarana methodology allows the practitioners and teachers to choreograph and practice any kind of sequence for all levels.
Furthermore, the term Nava-karana stands for  a  lifestyle and philosophy. In Sanskrit “nava” also means  “new” or “fresh”, while “karana” literally means “doing”.. That is to say, “Navakarana” is the continuing process of doing, evolving and discovering oneself in every moment as something is always new.
