Āyurveda Maulika Siddhānta Part I – Pure – IAPM Shanghai

It was an honour  to launch the first programme on Ayurveda in Shanghai (Āyurveda Maulika Siddhānt May 2016 Part I). It is the first programme of this kind in Shanghai and probably in China. Ayurveda is something very new in China. The basics of Chinese Medicine helps but Ayurveda goes a bit further  as it is a Philosophy and Science of Life (not just a System of Traditional Medicine).  Now we are prearparing for Part II (October 2016). The seed was planted … with dedication and care it will grow and spread, for sure.

Pure Yoga – AST Hong Kong – Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa Mālā Part 1: “Enrolment”

We have finished today the First Part of the Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa Mālā “The Enrolment”. It is the selective and preparatory part of the programme. It creates union, self-confidence and discipline. I’m very glad, this big group (more that 42 practitioners) got fully “intoned”. They are motivated and dedicated. Everything can be achieved now, for sure. I’m leaving tomorrow for Shanghai but we will be together all the times … in the study, practice and teaching of Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa. 

samasthiti as the image of samādhi

If there is a posture which mostly symbolises Yoga is the pādāṅguṣṭha samasthiti (standing firmly upright on the tiptoe)*

pādāṅguṣṭha = on the tiptoe; which symbolises “aplomb, self-assurance and achievement”.

sama =  balance,  neutral, complete, equanimity,  imperturbability.

sthiti =  standing firmly upright.

 

Samasthiti is the image  of samādhi (abstract meditation).

sama = imperturbable

ādhi = thought

*Note: Don’t called it samasthitiḥ (wrong typed samasthitihi) unless is the declension for the feminine singular nominative case.
