Āyurveda Maulika Siddhānta Part I – Pure – IAPM Shanghai

It was an honour  to launch the first programme on Ayurveda in Shanghai (Āyurveda Maulika Siddhānt May 2016 Part I). It is the first programme of this kind in Shanghai and probably in China. Ayurveda is something very new in China. The basics of Chinese Medicine helps but Ayurveda goes a bit further  as it is a Philosophy and Science of Life (not just a System of Traditional Medicine).  Now we are prearparing for Part II (October 2016). The seed was planted … with dedication and care it will grow and spread, for sure.

I would like to answer Frank’s question:

“Thank you for your note regarding more Sattvic dishes on our menu. You’re not the first guest bringing this up and I am interested in exploring this more. I find it very difficult to create flavorful dishes without garlic and onion and I don’t know what to replace them with in our current recipes. Do you have some suggestions or even some recipes for me I could play around with?”

    Hi Frank,
generally when you remove some items from your diet you’ll start to look around and finally discover that there are so many other items that more healthy and some also more tasty that you didn’t know. I the food item list according to doṣa that i have given you you can find and explore so many spices and food items that you probably never have before. Generally Asafoetida is used as substitute of garlic and fresh ginger paste for stir fry as substitute of onion. But no necessary you have to restrict or try to create a similar taste. You can rooted or slightly stir fry spices ad add to your dish. Just for an idea, if you prepare hummus instead of you garlic you can roast and grind cumin seeds, add the powder to the hummus when you blend all the ingredients (chickpeas paste, tahini, lemon, olive oil, rock, salt). When you cook without onion and garlic you can discover and use many aromatic herbs of sattvic quality which add great taste to you food and very good also for you mind. Like Fennel, Coriander, Parsley, Sage, Oregano, Basil and so many others (pls check the list I provided you).

    Let me know,

    Hi Nora,

For preparing Natural Candies you can use alma, tamarind, ginger or mango with natural pure crystal sugar or honey. Be very carful with honey. Use honey with moderation, never mixed with hot food or drink. Avoid honey in autumn and summer. If you want to promote your digestive power I suggest you to use ginger paste with a pinch of rock salt like a “chutney” while having lunch. It is healthy and delicious.

    Hi Dario,

thank you for your answer and interest in helping me. I did not receive the list you are mentioning in your post. Could you send that to me (again), so the whole post makes more sense to me?

    I appreciate it-

    Dear Dario,

I haven’t heard back from you. Rereading my comment, I realized I may have come across ungrateful. So I just want to say thanks and that I like the ideas you gave me and I’m about to try them out. If you could send me the missing sheet, that’d be great, so I can explore this more.

    Namaste-
    Frank
